Integration Engineer - NPI (New Product Introduction)

Location: Sydney, New South Wales AU

Apply

Job Number: 674

External Description:

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Integration Engineer to join our New Product Introduction team, supporting the delivery of cutting-edge Ericsson RAN hardware, software, and solutions into operational mobile networks.

This is a technically demanding and highly rewarding role where you will work at the forefront of 5G deployment - integrating new radio and baseband platforms, validating software releases, and ensuring every product introduced meets the highest quality and performance standards before it reaches the live network.

This will be an initial 2 year maximum term contract.

Outline of Key Skills and Experience required:

  • Proven experience in RAN integration, commissioning, or NPI delivery within a telecoms environment

  • Hands-on experience with Ericsson baseband and Radio hardware platforms

  • Working knowledge of Ericsson Network Manager (ENM) and/or OSS-RC for node configuration and software management

  • Practical experience executing integration and feature test plans in live or lab network environments

  • Understanding of 5G NR and LTE radio access network architecture and protocols

  • Familiarity with 3GPP standards and their application in RAN deployment

  • Strong documentation skills — capable of producing test reports, acceptance documentation, and site records to a professional standard

  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability in live and lab network environments

  • Ability to work independently in field environments and manage multiple concurrent delivery tasks

Advantageous to have:

  • Experience working within a formal NPI or New Product Introduction programme framework

  • Exposure to Continuous Deployment (CD) delivery models in a live network context

  • Experience interfacing with core network and OSS/BSS integration points

Outline of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own the technical delivery of new Ericsson RAN products from initial planning through to live network acceptance.

  • During planning, you will review NPI scope and documentation, build test plans and acceptance criteria, and align with stakeholders ahead of deployment.

  • In the hardware phase, you will commission and validate Ericsson baseband and Radio platforms in both lab and field environments, covering physical installation, configuration, and connectivity checks.

  • On the software side, you will deploy releases via ENM and OSS-RC, execute structured feature test plans, and validate key technologies. Any defects identified will be tracked and managed through to resolution.

  • Carry out end-to-end integration testing, producing formal test reports and sign-off documentation for programme acceptance.

  • Support the transition into continuous deployment, handing over to operations and optimisation teams, maintaining configuration records, and contributing to lessons learned and process improvement.

  • Participate in technical discussions with customer and internal Ericsson stakeholders

  • Hardware & software fault investigation, leading investigations in conjunction with the system design and support engineers

Key Attributes:

  • A technically confident engineer who thrives in complex, fast-moving delivery environments

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality

  • An effective communicator, able to work across technical and non-technical teams

  • Comfortable working independently in the field as well as collaboratively in a programme team

  • Motivated by seeing new technology successfully introduced and performing in a live network

**  Only candidates with valid Australian Work Rights will be considered for this role.
